Important:

Travel insurance rules continue to change as a result of the pandemic. Some information may not be accurate at this time. It’s even more important to double-check all details that matter to you before taking out cover. Please note:
    • Some policies may not be available through Finder at this time
    • It’s unlikely that your policy will cover expenses from border closures

    Our Verdict

    • Fast Cover Travel Insurance's Domestic Plus policy offers the chance for you to be insured while you discover Australia, and you'll be covered for the most popular islands such as the Whitsundays and Lord Howe Island.
    • This insurance includes a competitive rate of up to $5,000,000 for personal liability and as much as $50,000 for expenses if your staycation gets disrupted. We also like that you can protect yourself for up to $5,000 if you're hiring a car or campervan.
    • Fast Cover Travel Insurance is one of a select few brands who offer Covid-19 cover.

How do I apply for Fast Cover travel insurance?

There are several different cover options as well as optional add-ons that you may want to include when purchasing Fast Cover insurance. Here's a quick checklist of what you should do before going ahead with your cover:

    • Compare policy options. Decide on which policy best covers your holiday needs.
    • Read the policy documents. Read through the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) to make sure you know what is and isn't covered.
    • Check out any additional options available. If you need additional cover for your holiday activities or valuable items, research your options to upgrade your policy with additional cover.
    • Receive a quote online. Apply for an online quote for an idea of the premium you'll pay for your policy.
    • Buy sooner rather than later. Your travel insurance benefits kick in as soon as you purchase, meaning it's best to buy when you've confirmed your travel dates.

I want to know we are travelling to Canada next week. I want to know if your insurance would cover covid related medical expenses if we happened to get sick?

        Hi Ryan,

Fast Cover Travel Insurance offers an ‘Optional COVID-19 Pack’ where they do include some cover for the following if you contract COVID-19:

        1) Overseas emergency medical, hospital and medical evacuation expenses
        2) Trip cancellation and disruption

For more information, please refer to Fast Cover’s Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). This is available on this provider’s website – you can click the ‘Get Deal’ button above to get started.

It’s crucial to read the policy’s wording with care so you know what your insurance covers you for, along with any restrictions and exclusions.

        Regards,
        James

        Hi Kerry,

Thanks for getting in touch with Finder.

        Fast Cover’s Comprehensive policy doesn’t automatically cover you if you’re hiring a scooter overseas but they do offer a Motorcycle Pack which is available as an add-on to your policy. Just be aware that to be covered, you will need to follow Fast Cover’s conditions;

        Riders:

        • You must wear a helmet.
        • For motorcycles with an engine size of 50cc or less, you must hold an Australian Drivers Licence.
        • For motorcycles with an engine size over 50cc, you must hold an Australian Motorcycle Licence.
        • You must be legally allowed to ride in the country that you are in.

        Passengers:

        • You must wear a helmet.
        • The person in control of the motorcycle, moped, or scooter must be legally allowed to ride in the country that they are riding in.

We also have a page dedicated to motorcycle travel insurance (includes scooters), if this helps.

        Kind regards,
        Jessica

        I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!
